Fifty numbered prints of a series of four photographs, signed by the artist, were issued in honor of Leonid Bergoltsev and made available to the public. A small number of these sets remain, and can be purchased for $150 each.

The inaugural issue of PROOF! featured the work of Leonid Bergoltsev. One of the Soviet Union's finest photojournalists, Mr. Bergoltsev moved to Spokane in 1996 with his wife, Nina. His photographs capture what Henri Cartier-Bresson called "the decisive moment"; that creative fraction of a second in which a photographer must first see composition as it happens, then react to it.
